The German C1 level is the 5th competence level of the Common European Framework of Reference for German (CEFR). In everyday situations, this would be the Level C1 with "advanced language skills".

An average student needs about 80- 100 lessons (UE= 45 min.) to get from B2 level to C1. Provided that he/she completes the additional tasks given to him/her. Achieving a level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) requires that the student repeats what he/she has learnt at home in peace and quiet and thus comes to about 200 hours of preparation for the exam.

What you can do with language level C1 (CEFR) is write and understand factual and complex texts and express yourself spontaneously and without gaps. At C1 you can use the German language effectively and flexibly at work, at university and in everyday situations, and you can express yourself clearly and in detail on complex issues. At C1 you speak (almost) as well as a native German speaker.

With the certificate (GER, DSH, Goethe, TELC) C1, you can easily apply to any German university. C1 is a prerequisite for admission to German universities!
